What are the steps involved in a home remodeling project?

Initial Consultation

For all the projects, we do sit and listen to you to understand your desired outcome. Our design team discusses your likes and dislikes as well as the budget with you. They also will take reference photos of your home and take measurements of the spaces to be remodeled.
During the initial consultation, which typically lasts about 30 to 45 minutes, we also provide you with a free budget estimate. Even though this estimate doesn’t cover all the small details of your project, it still gives you a fair idea of the project cost before moving to the next step of the process

Preliminary Design Phase

If you decide to move forward and retain our services to design your project, we start developing your remodeling designs. Depending on the project’s scope, we may or may not sign a design agreement with you to create the initial drawings.

Design & Budget Overview

We are able to provide you with a computerized 3D model to visualize the outcome. We communicate with you to make the necessary adjustments to suit your desired style and budget.

Design Development Finalization

Once you approve the remodel design and the budget that has been established, we sign the remodeling contract, which includes the materials to be used, and our best estimate of the whole project using line item price breakdown.

Start of Renovation

Upon signing the remodeling contract, we begin to transform your house. We don’t consider the remodeling project finished until you walk through your new space satisfactorily.

Will it be a design agreement for all remodeling projects?

No, these agreements are specifically for kitchen cabinetry designs. For other projects, we just sign the remodeling contract.

Should I budget for costs beyond the agreed-upon price?

Even though our responsibility is to deliver outstanding results within the anticipated budget, unforeseen issues can take the costs beyond what is expected. Of course, we always try to limit these expenses and predict these problem areas well in advance; however, issues can still arise beyond our control. Regardless of what may happen, we do our best to make it right.

How long will my project last?

During the initial consultation, we will discuss with you the duration of your remodeling project. The key factor in completing your project on time is our access to your home during regular working hours (Monday through Friday, 8 am-5 pm). Once we start to work on your project, we stay on it until we complete it.

Do I need to move out of my house during the remodeling?

Not necessarily. Many of our clients prefer to live in their homes during the remodeling project. This especially is the case if the project is a specific area of the house like the kitchen or bathroom. However, if the project is an extensive one, you may find it more practical to move out temporarily. For example, in a full house renovation project, you may prefer to relocate temporarily. During our initial consultation, we will discuss this case and sort things out.

Will there be a big mess?

We recognize that a renovation job can be an invasion of your privacy, so we take all possible measures to make you feel at ease. We lay down clean tarps whenever needed, and move your basic furniture, don’t forget that you need to move all your fragile items before the project starts. We also clean the workspace and traffic areas daily and perform a thorough professional cleaning on the final day.
